Our 2008 Annual Mater Dei Country Fair was a huge success, raising close to $20,000, which greatly assisted in the education of our kids. This success does not happen by itself, and would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of the volunteers who assisted on the day and the handful of people who have worked tirelessly all year to ensure this Mater Dei tradition continues to get better each year.

It is hard to thank everyone individually as you are sure to miss someone, but many many thanks must go to Jan and Les Verbinyecz for the time and effort they put into again making the Fair the great success it was. For those of you who don't know Jan and Les, they are parents of Mark who graduated from Mater Dei two years ago. Jan was the Fete Co-ordinator at the time and instead of calling it a day, has selflessly continued in the position for the past two years to help train someone to take over the duties. Jan, I thank you very much for your generosity.

I must also thank those people and businesses that made generous donations of gifts for the Chocolate Wheel and Raffle. Many of these came from families and friends of parents at the school. If your have any friends, family members or contacts who may wish to assist next year, please let us know. We would greatly appreciate it.

This year the Country Fair will be held on Sunday 25^thOctober 2009, so put it in your diary and tell your family and friends.
