Jean Kittson a hit at Mater Dei's Lipstick Luncheon

One of Australia's best known comedians and current star of stage show "Calendar Girls", Jean Kittson, was the MC and Entertainer for Mater Dei's second Ladies Lipstick Luncheon which was held on May 14. By all accounts Jean was a hit and the luncheon was a great success!

The 400 women in attendance experienced many emotions during the luncheon as they watched a moving DVD presentation depicting the work of Mater Dei, an inspiring performance of the Mater Dei student choir and then experienced almost two and a half hours of laughter as Jean shared her unique insights into life and being a woman.

Debbie Gates, Manager Development Program at Mater Dei, said the luncheon was a lot of fun for all in attendance. " Our student choir and Jean were the keys to ensuring the event was a great success. "

With the generous support from the event sponsors, and enthusiastic support from supporters and guests for the two terrific raffles held, the event raised over $18,500 nett for the children of Mater Dei. The funds will be directed towards their community participation programs which include inclusive schooling, structured work placement and daily excursions into the local community - "all valuable experiences that really do provide our students with the skills they need to help them take their place in their communities as confidently as they can" Debbie said.
