Inclusion Programs

The underpinning philosophy of Mater Dei is inclusion into the widercommunity. All students are involved in Mater Dei's Inclusion Programthatinvolves Community Access, Inclusive Schooling Placement and StructuredWork Placement with social inclusion prioritised in each case. Inclusive Schooling may be individual, small group or wholeclass. Inclusion in mainstream schools provides students with thechance to learn with and from their mainstream peers as well as givingMater Dei students the opportunity to gain the attitude and skillsnecessary forliving in regular communities where everyone is included as a valuedand equal member of society. In addition, we believe that welcomingmainstream students into the Mater Dei community is an excellentopportunity for them to understand the gifts and talents of Mater Deistudents and to gain a deeper awareness of social justice issues.
