  • St Benedict's Feast Day

    On Friday July 30, Mater Dei will celebrate the Feast of St Benedict for the first time.

    The Order of Proceedings for the day are as follows:

    9.30am - Mass in the Mater Dei Chapel
    10.30am - Morning Tea
    11.30am - Presentation of the Mater Dei St Benedict Awards for students, staff and our wider community
    12.00pm - BBQ lunch in our playground
    12.45pm - An afternoon of celebration with jumping castles, face painting, dance performances, popcorn and more!

    This day is an opportunity for the Mater Dei community to welcome our grandparents, godparents and good friends into our school and to spoil them with morning tea and some fantastic Mater Dei hospitality. Highlights of this day will include a performance by the students of Mater Dei, visits to our classrooms where we can show the great work that we do, and lots of scones with jam and cream - an event not to be missed.

  • Celebrating 100 Years of Good Sams in Camden

    The Good Samaritan Sisters first came to Camden in 1910 and the following year they brought the children from their Orphanage in Manly to enjoy the healthier 'country' life.

    On Sunday 22 August the Sisters who live and minister on the Mater Dei Camden property will celebrate this anniversary with a prayer service at 2.30pm followed by afternoon tea and a tour of Wivenhoe, the Chapel and Mater Dei School (part of which was the Orphanage) and the works in progress towards the new Mater Dei School.
